The Spiritual Speed Dating Story
Our story began when Kim attended a speed dating event at the Vegan Festival in 2009. Initially she wasn't so keen on the idea of speed dating and had to be coerced by her friend to take part but she was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was. Pete had always thought speed dating was a great way to meet new people, but shied away from the more commercial places. Over a cuppa one day they were discussing the speed dating experience and the fact that there were so many lovely spiritual singles in Melbourne. Kim commented that what she really wished for was a spiritual speed dating event. "So let's create it!" Pete was enthusiastic... and so Spiritual Speed Dating was born.
Within a month Melbourne's first Spiritual Speed Dating took place, booking out days beforehand and surviving a venue pulling out at the last minute. The project seemed to have a momentum of it's own since it's first event in February 2010. It appears Melbourne is hungry for a place where the spiritually inclined can come together to connect.
